The creation of Domaine du Lys and its golf course was initiated in 1928, when the famous banker Marthe Hanau decided to have a chic, rural residential place built… a few miles from Paris. She entrusted the British Tom Simpson with the realization of the 18 hole course “Les Chênes” amidst a forest next to Chantilly (the basic hazards are trees and a number of fairway bunkers). In 1976 Patrick Cros, champion and member of the club laid out the first nine holes of “Les Bouleaux”, which was brought to an 18 hole course by Robert Berthet in 1980, thus completing the facilities. The two 18 hole courses of Le Lys can be played all year and are accessible to players of all abilities.
